The majority of stories were recorded in the early 1980s with interviewees recounting family histories extending back to the early part of the 20th century. Stanislaus County Oral History collection

Oral interviews and transcripts beginning in the late 1950s of notable local community members, such as Fred McMillan who was born in Stanislaus County in 1876. CSU Stanislaus acts as a repository for the interviews done by the Stanislaus County Oral History Project sponsored by the McHenry Museum and Historical Society.
