Summary

Arthur Fredrick Domries leans against the open flue of a cement mixer in which an unidentified man can be seen peering out toward the photographer. Another unidentified man stands to the far side of Domries. These three men were construction workers on the Don Pedro Dam that was built on the Tuolumne River, northeast of Turlock, California. A railroad trestle is visible in the background. It was part of 33 miles of track used to haul gravel from the Stanislaus River to the construction site to be mixed with the concrete.
