Summary

Mrs. Donovan was the wife of a blacksmith who operated two shops in Turlock, California in the 1870's and 1880's. The first "smithy" was located at Front and Main Streets. His second was located further down Front Street near the Farmer's Hotel. It is known that Mrs. Donovan baked bread and sold it to the two general stores then in business in Turlock.
