CSU Stanislaus acts as a repository for the interviews done by the Stanislaus County Oral History Project sponsored by the McHenry Museum and Historical Society. University Archives holds a similar collection of oral interviews of significant CSU Stanislaus faculty, staff, and administrators.

Stereographs collection

Viewing stereographs was a popular pastime in the mid-19th to early 20th centuries. This collection of 441 stereograph cards covers an array of topics, including world events, Indigenous Americans, travel, science, history, and education.

When viewed through a device called a stereoscope, the dual images taken from slightly different perspectives result in a single image with a remarkable illusion of depth.

Scope and Contents On February 19, 1942, President Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066. This order led to the forced internment of Japanese Americans, most of whom were United States citizens. 3,699 innocent men, women, and children were incarcerated at the Turlock Assembly Center on the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds between April 30th and August 12th of 1942, due to the order.
